Sister Sweet

Although the kids are at each other sometimes, lately I have been noticing all the sweet things they do for each other. Erika has been on my mind a lot lately.... Since her first library day in September, Erika gets to check out two books from the school library. Each Tuesday she has come home excited to see Carson because one of the two books she checks out is always for him. He never asked her to do it, she just thought he would like it. And he does!

While preparing to give the 13th Article of Faith in Primary at church, Erika volunteered to help him get ready. We have learned the 13th Article a couple of times, but Carson couldn't remember much of it to start with. Erika coached him carefully Sunday morning he was ready. When he stood up to recite it to the Primary he froze (Our primary is quite large and meets in the Chapel so it is a little intimidating up at the podium.) She jumped right up and went to his aid. As soon as she joined him he was able to overcome his fear and they got through it together.

She is so good to help him tie his shoes, hang up his coat, and reach all the things five year olds just can't quite reach. She shares most of her toys, her treats, and her books. Tonight, with seemingly endless patience, she coached him over and over on how to make the perfect snowflake. (They actually turned out really well!) What a great example to me. So next time her temper flares with him or they are at each other over some silly thing, I will try to remember how more often she is a sweet soft-hearted sister to him.

Erika sounds like someone I would love to spend some time with! Just like her wonderful Mom!!! You two must be doing a lot right to have kids that ,"mostly" love and support each other. Take a bow Mom and Dad!! :D

Hey when are you going to do another show here in Seattle? Get your free room and board here!!! I'll even let you have a turn holding my new grandson. Hmm what else can I tempt you with? I'm guessing NOT rain, how about a VERY HIGH waterfall?

Miss you cuz,
Michelle

In a 2 year period of time, by the end of April, we will have gained 4 little grandsons and one beautiful 8yr old grandaughter, Cheyenne. We inherited her from Maria's husband Chris. She loves her new little brother and won't let anyone else hold him if she is in the room!

It is ironic that Terry and I had 5 girls and one boy and our grandkids are the exact opposite, 4 boys and one girl!! That's fine with me though I'll take them all! They are sooo cute and kissable!

I know how hard it is on you both when the office has a strong shackle on your hubbies ankle! Microsoft is famous for workers even sleeping there for a few days at a time. The workers take pride in it and compete to see who works the longest! Not Terry thankfully, he was one of the old men of the company and had out grown such stupidity. You achieve more and work faster, when you have proper rest! :) But it was hard for him because he didn't apear to them as giving his all, hense he did 16 and 18 hour days a lot lot lot! No fun for either of us. And he hated to take vacations because he would be so swamped with work when he got back! Ahh, but now, the retired life is a fresh breaze of delight! :)
