A few "Deals" we're working on

I know I should post about our house again, but I can't bring myself to do it. I must admit that a while back I even stopped taking pictures because I can't stand it anymore. (The progress--or lack there of--on the house). I only have 1.5 rooms left to finish, but I can't seem to do it. I feel like I'm in the last mile or two of a marathon and I can't finish! Where is my power-gel? Ugh. All I know is that we really need to complete our inspection soon and who knows how it will all get done. I will make you a deal...I will try to post some more on the house later when I have a little more enthusiasm. So until then little glimpses are all I can provide.

Dan is now officially on another "Deal". Generally speaking he is working on 5+ at any given time anyway, but in addition to the regular stuff, this one has a more definite timeline. What does that mean? It means that the 8 hours a week we saw him before will now be cut to 4 including the time we spend at church. (Can you take a Sabbatical from Church?) This is supposed to go on for about four months... I have to tell you that my patience is wearing a little thin--as I assure you is his--with this job. This also means that I may do a little more complaining than is healthy on this blog. I will do my best to keep it to a minimum. We'll see.....

Tonight I made a great "deal" with Carson. For few months we have been growing out Carson's hair. He has great hair, thick with a little curl. I thought it would look so fun a little longer and tousled, right? Well with a shower and a good gel it was pretty good for a while, but lately the "big hair gene" has kicked in. This gene is evidenced in both of his grandfathers (who both have GREAT hair with the right haircut). Let's just say in the 70's my Dad had hair verging on a very bizarre afro and although I have no photographic evidence yet, I have seen grandpa Ed's hair get pretty "big" at times. In other words, Carson has really great hair, but he probably won't be able to wear it like a sexy soccer player, etc. So tonight we made a deal to cut his curls in favor of something a little more Cary Grant. Without shame I will say he is going to be one good-looking guy!

A nice "before" shot from his first day of school.

What did I tell you...he is so cute!

Carson is super cute with or without the curls, he could totally be a model.

A relief from stress is only a phone call away! My husband has not been home either. The latest nights were five in the morning and earliest midnight.

So, so cute. He must be related to ME! I love you guys and think of you so often. I am happy I can keep up with your life through this blog (even if you have to complain a bit)--maybe I need to come see you! Hang in there!

Ahhh such a cutie! I wish we had gotten the Grandpa Ed hair over here! It seems that everyone except Shane of course has the Gena hair...thin/fine!

The haircut is really cute. And listening to him describe it to Caroline was even cuter.
