Every year Erika's Birthday gets lost in the shuffle between Christmas and New Year celebrations. This year Dan was home a lot over the holidays (Yay!) and we were able to devote a whole day to celebrating our sweet girl. We took her to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then for her "big" gift this year she wanted to get her ears pierced. She asked when she was six and Dan told her she had to wait until she was eight. On her eighth birthday she asked and Dan told her she could do it when she was ten. I think he was hoping she would forget. She has been very patient and hasn't begged or pleaded so when she asked this year he gave in after talking it over with her. We took her over and with only a little nervous anticipation she got her ears pierced. We are so happy she had a good birthday and we think her new earrings look great!

We are so excited for you Erika! Dan sounds a lot like David...I'm not sure he will ever let our little girl (if we ever have one) get her ears peirced... We are so happy you had a fun birthday!!

We know how you feel about the birthday. Avery is the same way. We celebrated in the IF airport. Yah!! Congrats Erika on the piercing!

I had my ears pierced when I was three. Rob is adamant that our girls will not have their ears pierced until they are A LOT older. In fact, he goes all out NUTS if anyone even mentions it. I'm thinking 8 may be the magic year in our family.
